Read the background story

In February 2023, I’ll endeavor to set a World Record for the fastest time to complete an Olympic-Distance Triathlon on all seven continents in seven days – and yes, that includes swimming, biking, and running in Antarctica.

To date, no one has completed an olympic-distance triathlon (1.5k swim, 40km bike, 10km run) on all seven continents, much less in JUST one week.

IN GREAT COMPANY

I’m grateful to be traveling with the runners of the World Marathon Challenge and collaborating with Race Director Richard Donovan on all the logistics.

KEY MENTAL AND PHYSICAL FACTORS

Endurance and stamina
In 168 hours, I will be open water swimming 6 miles, biking 175 miles, and running 45 miles, all while traveling more than 25,000 miles around the world.

Drastic environmental, weather, and altitudinal changes
Through the course of the week, I will race in temperatures oscillating from 15°F (Antarctica) to 90°F (Cape Town).

Unconventional sleep and recovery
In order to complete the travel and triathlons in time, all rest, recovery, and sleep will happen in airports and airplanes.

Travel, cost, and logistics
With so many variables, there are bound to be plenty more unforeseen curveballs, but that’s part of what makes this adventure dynamic and exciting.
